SRMJEEE 2015 Topper Sagar Goyal followed no specific plan, just regular and continuous study
A student of Delhi Public School - Rohini, Delhi, Sagar Goyal’s name seems to have appeared in the list of toppers for various engineering entrance exam being conducted this year. With a score of 310 out of 360 in JEE Main 2015, Sagar believes that regular and focused study is the only key to the success and that one should not take undue pressure.
In a candid chat with shiksha.com, Goyal shares his preparation strategy for SRMJEEE 2015 and his plans for JEE Advanced. Read the complete interview below.
Q. How does it feel being the SRMJEEE 2015 topper with an AIR 2? Did you expect this?
It feels really good to have secured an All India Rank 2 in SRMJEEE. And frankly speaking, I did not expect this rank. I just can’t explain in words how happy I feel. However, this is just a preliminary stage. My main target is JEE Advanced 2015.
Q. So, how did you plan your preparation?
I did my best and never thought about the rank. Probably the hard work has paid off. I did approx. 10-12 hours study on regular basis. I have been preparing for engineering exams for last 4 years with coaching classes from FIITJEE.
Q. What was your overall score and Subject wise marks?
As of now, I do not know much about the score as I have just received my All India Rank.
Q. What study plan did you follow for this exam?
For SRMJEEE, I did not really follow a specific plan. It was just regular and continuous study. In fact, this is my approach for all the other engineering exams I am taking this year.
Q. Which SRM campus do you aim to join?
I have not yet given a thought about this as of now.
Q. Which stream do you plan to opt for and why?
I wish to pursue Computer Science & Engineering because it seems to be the best career option in my opinion.
Q. Success Tips for students taking the exam next year?
I think regular and focused study is the only key to the success. One should not take undue pressure. You should enjoy your study time to the fullest.
Q. What other exams are you taking?
Besides SRMJEEE, I also took JEE Main 2015. I got through JEE Main and now will be appearing for JEE Advanced and BITSAT.
