Study integrated M.Tech at IIIT-B

Indian Institute of Information Technology - Bangalore (IIIT-B) has invited applications for its 5 year Integrated M.Tech program for the session 2013. Launched in the year 2012, this dual degree program is for aspirants who have passed or are appearing for Senior Secondary (Plus Two) examination with Mathematics or equivalent subject.

The course includes core as well as elective subjects. The elective courses are broadly grouped into two streams comprised of several focus areas as shown below:

Stream 1:

• Computer Science
• Database and Information Systems
• Software Engineering
• IT & Society

Stream 2:

• Networking & Communication
• Embedded Systems Design
• VLSI Design
• IT & Society

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• First-class in 10+2 (or equivalent) with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
• Students expecting to complete the minimum requirement by August 2013 may also apply.

List of qualifying examinations

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognised Board/University
• Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy
• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system
• H.S.C. Vocational Examination
• Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects
• 3 or 4-year diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

Selection Process:

Admissions to the program is based on the student’s performance in the JEE(Main) 2013. Applicants are required to report in the application form the All India Rank obtained and the marks obtained in JEE (Main) 2013.

Important dates:

 After the successful completion of the course, students will acquire both a B.Tech and M.Tech degree in IT.
