University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata has invited applications for admissions to its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Sanskrit for the academic year 2013.

Eligibility criteria

Exam Syllabus

The 70 mark written exam will comprise:

  • Paragraph writing (in English or in Sanskrit, minimum 500 words)
  • Short questions (in English or in Sanskrit)
  • Comprehension (in Sanskrit)
  • Viva Voce

Seats: 15 (for five years)

Selection process:

  • Selection to the program will be based on the written test and interview that will be conducted by the university
  • Aspirants who have already cleared UGC/JRF examination ,NET/SET or equivalent or have passed M.Phil are not required to appear for the admission test but will have to appear in the interview

Application form:

Aspirants should apply to the program in the prescribed proforma (to be downloaded from the university website) by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan obtainable from college street campus (cash counter)
