New Delhi, June 16 - University of Petroleum opens centre of design engineering JBM Cadmind signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies to open a center of excellence for design engineering at its Dehradun-based campus. Nishant Arya executive director, JBM Group and Dr Parag Diwan, vice chancellor, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies signed the document to enter a strategic association.

New Delhi, June 16 - University of Petroleum opens centre of design engineering

JBM Cadmind signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies to open a center of excellence for design engineering at its Dehradun-based campus. Nishant Arya executive director, JBM Group and Dr Parag Diwan, vice chancellor, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies signed the document to enter a strategic association. Speaking on the occasion, Arya said, "We are tying up with premium engineering institutions of the country to establish design engineering centres. We foresee an investment of Rs 50 crore to Rs 100 crore, in this fiscal".

"The automotive and engineering industry requires about 10,000 design engineers while the current availability is only about 1,000. There is a huge talent gap that requires to be bridged. Supported by our strong partners, we will soon expand to more cities in northern India", he added.

JBM Cadmind is already operating a centre of excellence at Manav Rachna International University's Faridabad campus, and has delivered training to around 1,000 students.

Manipal Education has entered into collaboration with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), a global leader in stocks and derivatives trading to launch training programmes in capital markets across the country, starting this month. The programmes will promote awareness, develop skills and spread knowledge among those who wish to improve their understanding of markets or build a career in the field. The programmes will be delivered by Manipal Education, with content and methodology provided by the NSE. The programmes will include basics of stock markets (one day); capital markets (two days); derivatives (two days); fundamental analysis (two days); technical analysis (four days). The programmes will be initially offered at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Mangalore, and subsequently be extended to other cities in phases.
