US based MNC blacklisted from IIT-B Placements
A US-based mobile game developer company has been blacklisted by the placement cell of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B). The company has been blacklisted for a year for not following rules and regulations laid down by the cell. This company has been blacklisted from the process because it had tried to make an offer directly to students, when the protocol is to contact the placement cell first.
During the placements process, blacklisting of companies is a regular event. But this company could have fetched students a job of $ 1, 10, 000 per annum. One of the students said that once the companies get the number from the resume, they try to stay in touch with the students they desire to hire, which is a violation of placement policy.
