VITEEE 2011 Entrance Exam to be conducted on 16th April, 2011!
One of the most sought after and a reputed institution, VIT University Vellore, Tamil Nadu has announced examination date for its VIT Engineering Entrance Examination or VITEEE 2011. Conducted for admission into the B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) in its schools, the VITEEE exam will be conducted on 16th April, 2011, between 2:30 to 5:00 p.m.
The first educational institution in India to be awarded the ISO 9002 certificate, Vellore Engineering College has also received international accreditations for its programmes from The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom and the Energy Institute. In addition to this, United Kingdom have audited the Teaching-Learning Processes at VIT and accredited the respective programmes, in the year 2004.

Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE exam
To appear in the examination, it is necessary that candidates should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National and have studied in Regular, Full time and formal educational institution. Some of the other eligibility criteria is as follows:
- Candidates born on or after 1st July 1989 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2011. In this case, the date of birth as mentioned in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be taken into consideration. Applicants should produce original copy of this certificate, as a proof of their age at the time of counseling, failing which they will be disqualified.
- Applicants must have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology in qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate)
- The aggregate marks gained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in+2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST.
Pattern of the Entrance Examination
The question paper will be in English only and contain 4 [Four] parts as mentioned below. All Questions will be of objective type.
- PART-I - Physics
- PART-II - Chemistry
- PART-III - Mathematics
- PART-IV - Biology
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics candidates have to attempt PARTS - I, II & III. Candidates of Physics, Chemistry and Biology profile are required to attempt PARTS-I, II & IV. Moreover, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology candidates can attempt either Part-I, II, III or Part-I, II, IV as per their choice. Candidates attempting Parts-I, II & III are eligible for all the 13 programmes offered. Candidates attempting Parts-I, II & IV are eligible for Bioinformatics, Bio-Medical Engineering and Biotechnology programmes only.
An applicant should attempt any 3 parts only, as indicated above. If any applicant attempts all the four parts, only the first three parts will be evaluated. The answered PART-IV will not be considered for valuation. Each part has 40 questions and every question carries one mark. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate is required to choose the correct answer and shade against the appropriate choice in the OMR response sheet provided, strictly adhering to the instructions. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
