VITEEE 2014: Eligibility Criteria
VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) will be conducting the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination 2014 (VITEEE 2014) to offer admission to candidates in all its engineering courses. VITEEE 2014 is scheduled to be conducted from April 9, 2014 to April 20, 2014.
Candidates can apply to sit for VITEEE 2014 if they are a resident of India as well as if they are non-resident Indians.
Candidates can apply for VITEEE 2014 if they are born on or after July 1, 1992. Date of birth as specified by the candidate’s High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. At the time of counselling candidates will have to furnish any of these certificates in original otherwise they will be disqualified.
Candidates will be considered eligible to apply for VITEEE 2014 if they have cleared:
- Higher secondary examination (10+2) from any state board, Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi) or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi).
- Intermediate or two-year pre-university examination conducted by a recognized board/ university.
- International baccalaureate diploma of the international baccalaureate office, Geneva or high school certificate examination of the Cambridge University.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) Level.
VITEEE 2014: Qualifying Marks
Candidates will be eligible to appear for VITEEE 2014 if they secure at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology in their 10+2/intermediate exams.
However, candidates belonging to the SC/ST category as well as those hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) can apply if they have an average score of 50 % in their 10+2 or equivalent exam in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.
