The counseling for admissions to B.Tech programs will be done simultaneously at both the Vellore and Chennai campuses via an online multicity counselling procedure. Students have an option of opting out of counselling in any one of the cities either Vellore or Chennai. Please note that students need to submit their choice of the counselling center on or before May 20, 2014.
The counselling process will be the same as the previous years. After submitting their choice of counselling centers, aspirants will have to come on the scheduled day of counselling. After this, they would have to register themselves in the counselling center. Students, would then be called for counselling as per their rank in VITEEE 2014.
Counselling being conducted through online multicity or online mode of communication(video conferencing) is to make the process more transparent. This means that aspirants in Vellore will be able to see who is going into the counselling hall in Chennai and in the same way the candidates in Chennai will be able to see in the screen the candidate, who is going into the counselling hall in Vellore.
The screen displaying the seat availability in various branches in both the campuses will be a common one and the candidates both in Vellore and Chennai counselling centres will be able to see them. This ensures transparent admission process at VIT, as done in the past.
The online counselling methodology also aims to make the travel plans of aspirants and parents coming from far off places, easier.
