Techfest 2014, the largest annual science and technology festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) will commence from January 3 and continue till Jan 5, 2014. Staying true to its motto of spreading the best of science and technology among the masses, Techfest aims to reach out to all tech-enthusiasts who wish to prove their mettle in various technical competitions.

The fest encompasses numerous activities across different genres and one of the most engaging events of this annual fest is its workshops. Workshops at Techfest are conducted with an aim to bring participants face-to-face with the latest technology while providing them with valuable hands-on experience under the guidance of renowned professionals. Techfest 2014 will have the following workshops:

Let’s take a look at some of the workshops to be conducted at ‘Techfest’ 2014:

Swarm Robotics:

This workshop is being conducted with an aim to teach participants how to work on Slave Signaling Techniques, Complete Master Control, and Partial Master Control

Date: January 4 and 5, 2014

Duration: 14 hours spread over 2 days

Venue: IIT Bombay

Cost of the workshop: Rs 6500/- per team

Maximum number of participants per team = 4

Augmented Reality:

This workshop will introduce students to the fundamentals of Augmented Reality and its applications. Through this workshop, students will also learn how to work on NyARtoolkit, AR IDE and build advanced AR Apps within a span of two days.

Duration: 12 hours spread over 2 days
Venue: IIT Bombay
Cost of the workshop: Rs 1500/- per head. Participants have to register individually

Arduped:

IIT Bombay is conducting this workshop for people who want to learn the dynamics of humanoid robots. Arduped robotics workshop will give participants an opportunity to make their own Biped robot.

This workshop conducted at Techfest 2014 gives participants an opportunity to analyze the actual world through their robot's eyes using MATLAB.
