UPSC Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2013

Haritha V Kumar: Making headlines in various national dailies and TV channels, Haritha V Kumar topped the UPSC Civil Services (Mains) Exams in her second attempt. Kumar who holds a Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Communication) degree from Kerala University hails from Thiruvananthapuram. She is currently working as a probationer of Indian Revenue Services (IRS) undergoing training in National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics (NACEN) in Faridabad.

Stuti Charan: Stuti Charan from Jodhpur bagged the third place in UPSC 2013 Civil Services (Mains) Exams. She pursued her BSc degree from Jodhpur University and PG Diploma in Personnel and Marketing Management from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), Delhi. Charan cleared the exam in her third attempt.

Ruchika Katyal: The fifth topper in UPSC 2013 Civil Services (Mains) Exams, Ruchika Katyal, hails from Rohtak. A chartered accountant, Ruchika pursued her graduation from SRCC, Delhi. She was also sent as an observer to poll-bound Karnataka.

In the year 2013, the prestigious exam found lady toppers and that too third time in a row. Infact, for the first time ever in 2013, toppers in SC/ST categories were also women. Read the full story here!

Chartered Accountancy (CA) Exam 2013:

Kruti Shah: Leaving behind approximately 30,000 CA aspirants, Kruti topped the national level CA exam in 2013 with a total score of 611 out of 800 (76.38%). After completing 10th from Thakur Vidya Mandir, Mumbai, with 91.93% marks, she went on to pursue Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com) from NM College. Here too, she was the first rank holder. Soon after, she enrolled for CA in 2009 and joined S. G. Salecha & Company for articleship.

Prema Jayakumar: Another girl topper in the 2013 national level CA exam, 24-year-old daughter of an auto driver, Prema made headlines for her determination to crack the exam to help her family and provide them a life full of comfort. She secured an impressive 607 marks out of 800.

JEE (Joint Entrance Examinations) 2013:

JEE 2013 exam witnessed two girls make history by not only topping the exam but also being the first two girls ever to feature in the top 10 ranks of the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Aditi Ladha: Grabbing the sixth rank, Aditi from Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh) was the first girl topper of JEE 2013 Exam. She scored 320 out of 360 in JEE Advanced and aimed to get through her dream institute - IIT Bombay. She scored 330/360 in JEE Mains.

Sibbala Leena Madhuri: Hailing from Tirupati, Sibbala became the second girl topper of JEE Main 2013 exam with an All Indian Rank 8. With an expectation of ranking around AIR 20, she was surprised to see her name in the list of JEE Main 2013 toppers. With 97.9%, she too aimed to study in IIT Bombay or Delhi.
