CAT 2014 registration goes up to 1.97 lakh; 7000 apply on October 10

CAT 2014 registrations has gone up to 1,96,915, marking a slight increase in the overall registration numbers. About 7,100 candidates registered with the twenty-four hour slot on October 10, 2014.

“About 7100 candidates registered for CAT 2014 on October 10. The registration number has gone up to 1,96,915 now,” said Professor Rohit Kapoor, CAT 2014 Convener and faculty at IIM Indore.

Last year, about 1.94 lakh candidates had registered for the exam. The total number is up by almost 2,000. The increase in overall the registration numbers reflect an upbeat state in management education.

CAT 2014 registrations had originally closed on September 30 with only 1.89 lakh registrations. CAT 2014 registrations were temporarily suspended for 15 hours from September 28 to 29. “Some candidates were unable to complete the registration process due to technical glitches. We don’t want students to suffer. Hence, at the last moment we have decided to reopen for 24 hours,” said Professor Kapoor.
