First slot of CMAT February 2015 is over. The four day test window began today with first session being conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. The second slot has already begun. The test is being conducted in 62 cities across the country. Shiksha.com spoke to few CMAT aspirants to know about the exam. Here’s what we found:

“Last time I secured 65 out 100 in CMAT September attempt but this time I couldn’t even touch General knowledge section. GK section was very difficult” said CMAT aspirant Param Raj, a business man of a small startup.

Most of the students Shiksha.com spoke to felt that the GK section was difficult. Most questions were based on world history. Also, several questions were from static GK. Only 2-3 questions were from current affairs. Param also told shiksha.com that options for the answers were very similar to each other i.e. they were basically given in form of consecutive numbers.

However, contrasting what Shiksha.com got to know from most of the students, one CMAT aspirant told us that one could easily crack GK if they follow newspaper on daily basis.

According to Preeti Sharma, first time CMAT aspirant, Logical Reasoning (LR) and Verbal Ability (VA) were easy. She said, “It was a good attempt. Overall, the exam was moderate. Only the GK section was difficult but doable. LR and VA were easy. Although, LR was time consuming but it was easy. Quantitative Ability (QA) was fine.”

Pankaj Shrivastava, a final year BSc. student, told that LR comprised of conditional and selection based questions. He also told that in total there were four RCs, of which three RCs were average but the fourth RC was difficult. QA sections according to him was average. One has to have strong basics to crack the QA section, he added.

For Quantitative section of CMAT February Jainam Popat, a final year engineering student says, “Quant section was moderate. It was doable for me. I found two questions of Data Interpretation (DI) very difficult which I could not attempt at all. Verbal section comprises of parajumbles, critical reasoning, analogy, and few more topics. The AR section had more of single questions, therefore, it was time consuming.”

Overall, CMAT February 2015 proved to be more difficult than CMAT September 2014. Although, the exam was moderate to attempt, but GK section was difficult and more of a static GK based.
