Candidates who want to pursue Masters in Business Administrative (MBA) from Symbiosis International University (SIU) have to appear for the exam. SNAP is considered to be candidate-friendly, convenient, and economical for the applicants. Click here to apply now!

SNAP 2014 will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm. Students are expected to attempt 150 questions of 180 marks in two hours. The questions will be spread across four sections – General English, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. SNAP is a multiple-choice objective test where candidates have to choose one appropriate answer from a set of four choices per question. There is negative marking and every wrong answer attracts a deduction of 0.25 marks.

Unlike CAT and CMAT, SNAP is conducted particularly for admissions to institutes under SIU. The test duration of SNAP and other MBA entrance exams is two hours. While for CAT it is 170 minutes and for XAT it is 2 hours 30 minutes. SNAP includes a section on general awareness, whereas, CAT does not have a GK section.

Out of the four sections in SNAP, general awareness attracts 60 marks from the total, and the rest of the three sections consist of 40 marks each. While other MBA exams either devote equal marks to all sections or maximum marks to quantitative ability.
After clearing the SNAP written test, candidates have to appear for Group Exercise followed by Personal Interaction (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). GE has been reintroduced in admission process this year. Changes in PI-WAT are also expected.
Scoring in SNAP is considered much easier than CAT and XAT as the difficulty level of those exams is higher than SNAP. Thus, aspirants must prepare well to maximise their score.

Here are few tips to score well in SNAP:

  • You must read the questions carefully and try to avoid making silly mistakes during the exam.
  • Plan your exam strategy now so that you do not lose your marks due to mismanagement of time.
  • Do not stick to any question. If you are not able to attempt a question, just leave it and move on to the next question.
  • You still have time for the test. Practice as much as you can and take mock tests to be better prepared.
  • Improve your general knowledge, you have a chance to score high in this section.
