More than 5,500 people including MBBS aspirants have signed an online petition to postpone the NEET-UG 2021 as it clashes with other entrance exams and CBSE private exams to be held in September.

The students are mounting pressure on the central government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for undergraduates (NEET-UG) 2021. Till now over 5,700 people have signed the online petition on change.org to demand the postponement of NEET 2021 which is scheduled for September 12.

As per the petitioners, the undergraduate medical entrance exam date is clashing with many other state and national level UG entrance exams and the CBSE private exams. The students want to avoid this clash and have sufficient time in hand to prepare for the NEET-UG 2021. They are urging the government to postpone the exam to October.

There are many online campaigns running on social media platforms and all are saying that the date is clashing with other exams. However, despite the ongoing demands, National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Union Education Ministry have recently confirmed that the scheduled exam date for NEET-UG is not going to change any further and it will be held on September 12.

The online petition campaign was aiming for 1,500 signatures and at 9 am it reached 500 signatures and at the time of publication, it was 5,796 signatures.

The other entrance exams scheduled around NEET 2021 are the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) UG, and Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET).
