COMEDK PGET 2016

COMEDK PGET is a national level Post Graduate Medical and Dental Entrance Exam conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) for admissions to PG medical and engineering institutes in Karnataka.

COMEDK PGET 2016 will be conducted online on January 17, 2016 in about 60+ cities across India, making it easy for candidates across the country to appear for the exam from a city near to their hometown. The students need not have to travel to Karnataka to attend the COMEDK PGET 2016 exam.

COMEDK has collaborated with ERA Foundation (Educational Rating and Assessment Foundation) to conduct COMEDK PGET 2016 exam for admission to as many as 600 MD/MS/Diploma seats including 12 Medical and 19 Dental colleges of Karnataka. The exam paper of COMEDK PGET 2016 will carry 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and the time allotted for the exam is 3 hours. There will be no negative marking.

COMEDK PGET 2016 online exam scores will be valid only for admissions for the academic year 2016-2017.

Eligibility     

Candidates appearing for COMEDK PGET 2016 exam need to satisfy various eligibility criteria mentioned below:

• Aspirants must meet all the requirements specified by MCI/DCI.
• Candidates should pass their MBBS/BDS successfully from a recognized institution by MCI/DCI.
• They must have completed or should be completing their internship programme by April 30, 2016.
• A minimum of 50% marks required in COMEDK PGET 2016 for General Merit candidates and 40% for aspirants belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe (All India) and Other Backward Classes of Karnataka.
• Candidates should have obtained permanent registration with the MCI/DCI or any of the State Medical/Dental Council.

Process

Candidates can visit the official website of COMEDK PGET 2016 to register online and read instructions to fill the application form accurately. All the important dates including the exam date has been released on the exam website and so the students can apply for COMEDK PGET 2016 right away. Following is the application process and steps to fill the registration form of COMEDK PGET 2016 exam online:

1. Name of the candidate: Applicants must enter their complete name (as it appears in their (SSLC/10^th Standard Marks Card). In case the name of a candidate has changed for any reason, the original proof of the same need to be produced at the time of counselling.
2. Email-ID: Candidates must enter their valid Email ID.
3. Mobile No.: Candidates must enter their active mobile number.
4. For photo uploading, candidates must follow the below mentioned procedure:

• A recent colored photograph (not more than three months old) should be uploaded in the form with light background. The same image will be used in all the subsequent process including Test Admission Ticket and counselling.
• Sign on a plain white paper with a black pen and take a picture of the signature. The image taken should be in .jpg or .jpeg format with 35 X 80 mm dimension and file size 80 kb.

5. Candidates must follow the below mentioned steps to upload their signature in the application form

7. Gender: Select the suitable option.
8. Unique ID Proof and Number: Candidate must give the ID proof that he/she will bring in original at the time of exam and during counselling/admission process. They must also upload the scan copy of the same in the registration form and carry the same ID for everything till the application process is complete.

Admit Card

Candidates can get their Online Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) under applicant login of the COMEDK website from January 16, 2016. Applicants must download the Online Test Admission Ticket & get printout of the same to be used during the exam and counselling process. Also, note that the conducting authority will not dispatch online TAT of any candidate either by email or post or courier or in person under any circumstances.

Pattern

The syllabus for COMEDK PGET 2016 exam is based on the M.B.B.S/B.D.S syllabus as prescribed by MCI/DCI respectively. Students appearing for COMEDK PGET 2016 exam must read the below mentioned details carefully:

1. There will be two separate test for PG Medical and PG Dental Courses with 180 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) each.
2. The test paper will have two sections for each streams:

3. COMEDK PGET 2016 exam will be held at the same date and time in all the test centres simultaneously across India.
4. The exam time allotted for COMEDK PGET 2016 test is 180 minutes (3 hours) and the same will begin at 10:00 AM and continue till 01:00 PM.
5. No system of negative marking this year.

Note: In the event of a tie in the scores the principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) will be adopted.

6. Post exam a merit / rank list is generated by the conducting authority on the basis of candidate's score in the entrance exam. Based on this score list, candidates are selected for the seat selection process (counselling).
7. Candidates are expected to score a minimum of 50% for General Merit and 40% for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, in order to get a seat.
