Women CFP professionals at a 23% of 3215, with an aspiration to reach 35% by 2030

FPSB India has announced a significant milestone, surpassing 3,000 CFP professionals in the country. As of December 31st, 2024, the number of CFP professionals worldwide has grown by 3.1% in the past year, with an increase of 6,878 CFP professionals.

India has recorded an impressive 17.7% year-on-year growth taking the number of CFP professionals in India to 3,215 in 2024, from 2731 in 2023. With one of the highest growth rates, India is the fastest growing market for Certified Financial Planner professionals in the world. A total of 230,648 CFP professionals are now practicing in 28 territories globally assisting millions in developing comprehensive financial plans to navigate financial challenges, achieve their long-term financial goals and dreams of a secured financial future.

FPSB has recently collaborated with leading academic institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, IIFT, NISM, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai, and others to integrate financial planning education and CFP certification into the curriculum to provide working professionals, students, and independent practitioners with access to structured financial planning knowledge.

The CFP certification equips them with essential skills for informed decision-making, effective wealth management and ethical practices while. As financial markets evolve and personal finance management becomes increasingly complex, such educational efforts contribute to building a skilled workforce aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, supporting financial education, skilling, and a future-ready financial services sector.

Krishan Mishra, CEO, FPSB India, highlighted the need for skilled professionals who can offer structured, ethical, and competent financial advice and said, "India stands as one of the fastest-growing markets for CFP professionals, driven by a growing demand for Certified Financial Planner Professionals in financial planning services. FPSB India has experienced an impressive 17.7% growth rate, signalling a paradigm shift where financial planning is increasingly becoming a preferred career path for students, working professionals, and independent practitioners. As India's economy continues its upward trajectory, the need for CFP® Professionals who can offer comprehensive, holistic financial advice has never been more critical."
