The videos showing ‘flood-like’ situation in Banglore are surfacing all over the internet. Amid such a life-threatening scenario, many schools and educational institutes have shifted to online classes.

Amid heavy rains and flood-like situations, many schools and educational institutes in Bangalore have shifted to online mode. 

Bangalore Schools Shut: Bangalore is submerged due to heavy rains and intense water logging. Videos showing ‘flood-like’ situations in Banglore are surfacing all over the internet. Amid such a life-threatening scenario, many schools and educational institutes have opted for a shift to online mode. Bangalore schools have been shut for offline classes as the city continues to witness heavy rains.

Due to the Bangalore Rains, the city declared on September 5, 2022. Meanwhile, many schools have already shifted to online classes and it is expected to continue to conduct classes online for the next week or at least until the rains subside.

According to local media, Azim Premiji University has cancelled classes owing to the flooding in the hostel building and the path to the head office of the varsity.

Owing to the occasion of Teachers' Day, many schools were open today for celebrations. However, due to the difficulty in transportation and waterlogging, the schools will be following the directives of the state government and declare holidays and switch to online classes.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department, IMD, Bangalore and other districts such as Kodagu, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikmagalur have been issued a yellow alert. As per the weather department, the heavy rains will continue until September 9, 2022.

However, an official order from the state government regarding whether holidays will be declared for schools and colleges until the rains is still awaited.

The local media report informed that Karnataka Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai is visiting the flood-affected localities and directing officials to respond to the flood-affected local residents.
