Based on feedback from candidates after the exam, the expected cutoff score for the Pune campus is expected to be between 35 and 36. For the Noida campus, the cutoff is expected to fall somewhere in the range of 32 to 34.

The SET 2026 Test 1 English section did not feature traditional Reading Comprehension passages. Instead, candidates were presented with a single poem that included a specific question requiring them to identify a simile and comprehend the overall meaning.

The English section in Slot 1 was rated as easy to moderate and was heavily grammar-driven. There were very few vocabulary questions, and the section mainly tested error spotting, sentence improvement, adverbs, modals, synonyms, antonyms, and idioms.

The Logical Reasoning section was considered the easiest part of the SET 2026 Slot 1 paper. Students often started their examination with this section to build motivation, as the questions were straightforward and not highly complex.

Candidates did not find many geometry questions in the Quantitative Aptitude section. The paper had questions on arithmetic and basic algebra, along with questions on mensuration like the volume of a cuboid, probability, and permutations and combinations.

The Data Interpretation component featured a single set presented in a tabular format. Instead of the standard four questions, this set contained only two questions focused on calculating expenditure, revenue, and profit, which proved to be calculation-intensive.

In the Quantitative Aptitude section, arithmetic topics were highly prominent. Questions focused heavily on core topics like time and work, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, percentages, and ratio and proportion, which often appeared in mixed formats.

The Quantitative Aptitude section was rated as moderate. While many questions were based on concepts and formulas, the language used in some problem statements was tricky, making straightforward mathematical questions appear more difficult.

The General Knowledge section included questions asking which state Pattachitra belongs to and questions about animals. Candidates also found questions related to full forms, Nobel prize fields, international affairs, and sports categories like the Grand Slam.

The General Knowledge section had the most significant challenge for many test takers in the SET 2026 Test 1. The questions were focused on static general knowledge rather than current affairs, which caused difficulties for many candidates.

Candidates who took the SET 2026 exam today reported that time management was not an issue. Many test-takers were able to complete the paper comfortably, and some even had time left over to revise their answers.

The SET 2026 Slot 1 examination was rated as moderate in overall difficulty by candidates. This marks a slight increase from the previous year, which was considered to be in the easy to moderate range.

Candidates who have applied for SET Test 2 will have to appear for the exam on May 10.

• Students should not carry prohibited items such as a geometry/ pencil box, calculator, log table, slide ruler, any paper or textual material, bags, electronic items, mobile phones, etc.
• Test-takers are not allowed to carry any eatables inside the SET exam centre. They can only carry a transparent water bottle
• Candidates should leave the SET test centre one by one and must wait for their turn to avoid crowding outside the centre
• There is no provision for keeping personal belongings. Hence, students should avoid carrying bags as the authorities will not be responsible for any loss. 

SIU is all set to conduct the Symbiosis SET exam 2026 today, i.e. May 5, 2026, for the first session.  The exam will be conducted in the CBT mode.

Students shall check the below points and avoid them during SET 2026 exam day: 

• Not adhering to the reporting time: Students are suggested to arrive at the exam centre latest by 10 AM.
• Not carrying admit card: Students must check twice whether or not their SET 2026 admit card is with them. No candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the SET hall ticket 2026.
• Starting any new topic: Students shall focus on revising the existing topics instead of starting any new topic on the SET exam day. Starting a new topic may lead to confusion during the exam. 
• Not keeping an eye on the timer: Time management is the key to cracking SET exam 2026. Hence, students must ensure they do not spend a lot of time on a single question.
• Not getting SET admit card validated: It is important to get the SET admit card 2026 validated by getting it stamped. Students must save the admit card till the admission procedure ends as it is an important document. An admit card without the stamp will be considered invalid.

Candidates appearing for the SET exam 2026, must ensure that they have pasted a recent coloured passport-size photograph on the SET admit card 2026. The admit card without the photograph will not be considered valid. The photograph should not be older than 3 months. 

The SET exam will be conducted online in about 80 test cities across the country.
