Assam HS Exams 2021: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that decision on holding the class 12 exams in the state will be taken after the CBSE announces evaluation criteria for marking the students.
On being asked if the state will decide on conduction or cancellation of Assam HS Exams by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) Sarma said, “Decision in this regard will be taken after consultation with all stakeholders as it is a question of a students’ future.”
The Centre decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic with Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserting that the decision has been taken in the interest of students and to end the anxiety among students, parents, and teachers.
“We will wait till the CBSE announces the modalities for marking the students. We will have to take a practical decision and consider the students who aspire to pursue medical or engineering courses and see the admission criteria for them”, he said.
The state is ready to conduct the examinations for the Class 10 and 12th students considering the decline in the pandemic situation in the state. In case they decide to go ahead and conduct the exams, the state will allow the Assam HS students to appear for three main subjects out of five subjects.
