Students have started a petition for the cancellation of CBSE board exams 2021, which are scheduled to be conducted in May.

CBSE Board Exams 2021 are scheduled to begin on May 4 this year. Many students have voiced their concerns against the conduction of the CBSE board exams 2021, which will be conducted in physical mode despite the COVID19 pandemic. A group of students has started a petition for cancellation of the exams for the academic year 2021.

Students have started a petition on change.org for the cancellation of the board exams 2021, which are being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The reason why students are pushing for the cancellation of the examinations is because of the conduct of classes online due to which the entire academic year has not been fruitful. According to students the online classes have not been as helpful as classroom teaching.

The petition also mentions that many students were not able to attend online classes regularly during the pandemic due to the lack of resources and proper internet network. Many students could not afford to attend online classes due to the financial disruptions caused by the pandemic.

Students say that it will be unfair to conduct the CBSE board exams 2021 as not all students will be able to give their best without classroom sessions and proper guidance. They have also proposed that students could be evaluated on the basis of their marks in the internal examinations which were conducted by the school.

According to them, this issue cannot be fixed by delaying the CBSE board exams 2021 further, as a delay in the exams will put unnecessary pressure on the students and hamper the natural flow of the academic year.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reduced the syllabus of the upcoming board exams by 30 per cent as many students and teachers complained that the syllabus could not be completed with online classes. The marking scheme and exam pattern has also changed.

The Board is all set to conduct the board exams 2021 from May 4 for students of CBSE class 10 and CBSE class 12. The practical exams will begin on March 1. CBSE will release the detailed date sheet of the examinations soon on the official website.
