CBSE Class 12 Exam 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the CBSE Class 12 English Board Exam 2026 on March 11, 2026, for thousands of students across India. The English subject is a common subject for all science, commerce and arts students. Often known as a scoring subject, it plays a key role in students’ final CBSE Class 12 results. As per the exam pattern of english subject, the CBSE Class 12 English question paper 2026 will include sections such as Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills, Grammar, and Literature. 50% of questions will be competency-based questions, 20% will be multiple choice questions, while the remaining 30% questions will be SA and LA type questions. 

CBSE Class 12 English Exam 2026: Reporting Time

The CBSE 12th English exam 2026 will begin at 10:30 AM. The CBSE class 12 English exam reporting time 2026 is between 9:30 AM to 10 AM. However, students are advised to reach the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the reporting time. Students must carry their CBSE admit card and school ID to the examination centre as without these documents, entry at exam hall will not be allowed.

    The CBSE Class 12 English exam is expected to begin at 10:30 AM and conclude at 1:30 PM. The theory paper will contain 80 total marks.

    A: 

    No, CBSE released the CBSE Class 12 date sheet for all subjects together. However, to make the exam dates simpler to find and use, Shiksha.com divides and shares the CBSE 12th date sheet according to three streams - Science, Commerce and Arts.

    Q:   What are the important documents to carry on CBSE 12th exam days?

    You must not forget to carry your CBSE 12th admit card on all exam days. In case you forget, you will not be allowed to write the exam. Along with the CBSE 12th admit card and school ID, students must also carry their pens, pencils, ruler. geometry box etc.

    The board releases the CBSE 12th admit card in the first week of February on the official website. Students  need to collect their admit card from their school respectively.  The CBSE 12th exams are held from February until April every year.  

    Q:   What happens if you take leave in CBSE 12th board exam?
    A: 

    In case you're unable to attend a CBSE 12th board exam, you will be given zero marks in the subject. Soon, you will be asked to appear for the supplementary exam. Thus, it is better to focus and study hard and not skip or leave your exam to pass with flying colours.

    The CBSE Class 12 English Core (Code 301) paper is of 100 marks. The theory exam is for 80 marks, while the internal assessment is for 20 marks.  The paper will have three sections, i.e. Reading Skills, Creative Writing Skills, and Literature.
