CBSE Digital Evaluation Issues 2026: The On-Screen Marking Scheme adopted by Central Board of Secondary Education this year has faced huge backlash from students, parents and educators following the dip in pass percentage in CBSE 12th 2026 exam. The system, which was introduced by CBSE to enhance transparency, fairness and consistency in the evaluation process has come under the lens. After CBSE 12th result 2026 was announced on May 13, several students and parents took to social media, questioning CBSE Digital Evaluation process, which left many students in tears. Now students are demanding that CBSE should discontinue On Screen Marking system so that those appearing in future do not suffer the loss of marks.

CBSE Digital Evaluation Issues 2026: Why Students are Demanding Change?

  • Students got less marks than expected in Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Biology after performing well in board exams. Some students cleared JEE mains 2026 exam but failed to pass board exams. Students are also saying that they got marks in pre-board too.
  • There are reports of technical glitches, such as blurred scanned copies and software issues. This caused a problem in digitally evaluating the answer sheets.
  • Students are raising questions that due to digital evaluation, they did not get step-wise marks

 

CBSE Digital Evaluation Issues 2026: CBSE Releases Official Statement

On Friday (May 15), the Central Examination Board took to social media addressing the concerns raised by students regarding OSM. The Board in the statement said that the On Screen Marking system ensured transparency and fairness in the evaluation process. Step-wise marks have been given to students. Those who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for re-evaluation.
