CBSE has already shared a tentative window for 2026 Class 10, Class 12 board exams from February 15 to April 09, 2026. Schools use this timeline to plan pre boards in December and January

Students of Classes 10 and 12 are now preparing for pre board exams, and many are looking for an official calendar from CBSE or CISCE. Neither the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) nor the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) releases any pre board schedule. These exams are held internally by schools to assess readiness for board exams.

CBSE has already shared a tentative window for 2026 board exams from February 15 to April 09, 2026. Schools use this timeline to plan pre boards in December and January and to complete practical exams in early 2026.

A principal of a CBSE school in Ghaziabad, CSP Singh said, “We finish syllabus by late November and begin pre boards by mid December so students get enough time for revision before final exams.”

From Chandigarh, an ICSE school head added, “We conduct mock exams in December to help students get used to the board format. CISCE usually releases its timetable later, so each school fixes dates independently.”

Pre board exams vary from school to school depending on syllabus completion and local holidays. Students and parents are advised to follow school circulars and official websites of CBSE and ICSE, cbse.gov.in and cisce.org, for confirmed updates instead of relying on unverified posts shared online.
