CBSE mandates that schools applying for the PM SHRI prefix must upload an official approval letter from the Ministry of Education to confirm eligibility.
PM SHRI Schools: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification instructing schools to apply online to prefix their names with 'PM SHRI.' Schools can complete this registration on the CBSE SARAS portal: saras.cbse.gov.in/SARAS under the 'Change in Name of School' category, once the online link is reactivated by the board. The CBSE SARAS portal for the 2025-26 session is currently closed. Schools can submit their applications when the link reopens next year.
The official notice released by CBSE states, "Kindly ensure that the above instructions are disseminated to the respective schools The Board is intermittently receiving requests from the concerned Schools for updating their respective school names by virtue of selection under the PM School for Rising India Scheme of Govt. of India; commonly known as PM SHRI."
