Earlier this month, the Supreme Court asked CBSE and CISCE boards to submit their assessment criteria for Class 12 students in two weeks. Both CBSE and CISCE submitted their evaluation formulas last week which the top court said was "fair and reasonable".
"There is no reason to interfere with the CBSE and ICSE schemes," the court said while rejecting a plea seeking cancellation of the compartment exams for Class 12 students.
Moreover, the Andhra Pradesh government is keen on conducting the Class 12 exams in the last week of July for which the SC has given a stern warning of holding the state govt responsible even for a single fatality. It has asked the state to submit file notings that can help establish how the decision to hold AP Inter exams was taken and whether all pandemic conditions were examined.
A vacation bench of the Supreme Court, comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar and Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, will hear the matter tomorrow, June 25, at 2 pm.
Meanwhile, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will address questions from students about the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examinations tomorrow, June 25, at 4 pm.
