Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) govt led by Arvind Kejriwal gave permanent jobs to Kashmiri Pandits without even proper documents.

Kashmiri Migrant Teachers association has condemned the statement given by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal that it was Delhi Government that regularised their services. The teachers’ body claimed that the Delhi government tried to hamper their service regularisation.

The teachers association sharing a timeline of Delhi High Court hearings has stated that the Kejriwal government was never interested in regularising the services. The statement reads: “The above events clearly indicate that the Delhi government was never interested in regularising the services of Kashmiri Pandit teachers. In fact, the Delhi government opposed the regularisation till the very end."

Earlier this week, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is a party that is actually concerned about Kashmiri Pandits, Sisodia said that Kejriwal gave permanent jobs to Kashmiri Pandits without even proper documents.

Reacting to this statement, Kashmir Migrant Teachers (KMT) have slammed the Delhi government stating that “It is clear that Arvind Kejriwal was lying.

“We strongly condemn the statement given by the Delhi CM that it was the Delhi Government who regularised the services of Kashmir Migrant Teachers,” reads the release issued by KMT.

According to KMT, on June 6, 2010, they approached the Delhi High Court and on May 18, 2015, Single Bench delivers the judgement in favour of KMT by regularising their services.

'Delhi Govt denying regularisation of KMT'

The same judgement was challenged in the Double Bench of the High Court by the Delhi Government denying the regularisation of KMT.

Later, on May 21, 2018, Double Bench in its verdict, directed the Delhi Government to regularise the services of KMT.

“Despite repeated assurances by the Delhi Govt. to regularise the services of KMT as per the directions of the Hon'ble High Court, they again challenged it in the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India,” state the statement issued by KMT.

On October 26, 2018, Supreme Court dismisses the petition of the Delhi Government and withstands the judgement delivered by the High Court dated May 21, 2018.

Later on January 23, 2019, Delhi Government regularised KMT, having no other option left.

“The above events clearly indicate that the Delhi Government was never interested in regularising the services of KMT. In fact, the Delhi Government opposed the regularisation till the very end,” reads the release issued by Government School Teachers Association (Migrant).
