
DPS Indirapuram hosted the annual inter-school Spanish language festival, ‘La Fiesta 2025,’ which was graced by the Ambassador of El Salvador as the chief guest.
DPS Indirapuram hosted the Annual Inter-School Spanish Language Festival – La Fiesta 2025. An initiative of the DPS Society, the festival aimed to foster cross-cultural understanding and promote global bonding beyond borders. The event saw participation from 13 schools across Delhi-NCR. Highlights of the festival included competitions in Spanish solo singing, group recitation, Character de facto, Hispanic dance, and drama. A vibrant array of online events also accompanied the celebration, featuring activities such as mask-making, poster designing, card creation, and collage making.
The valedictory session was graced by Guillermo Rubio Funes, Ambassador of El Salvador to India. Other distinguished guests in attendance included Ivonne Bonilla, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of El Salvador, and Prof. Gaurav Kumar, Chairperson of the Centre for Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Latin American Studies at the School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, New Delhi. The event was also honoured by the presence of Abhishek Bansal and Girish Kumar Sachdev, Members of the Board of Management, DPS Indirapuram.
The Chief Guest, along with other distinguished dignitaries, felicitated the winners across various categories. In his address, Guillermo Rubio Funes congratulated DPS Indirapuram on the success of the event. He praised the students for their impressive performances and lauded the DPS Society for its commendable initiative in promoting awareness of Hispanic cultures while providing young learners a valuable platform for expression and cross-cultural engagement.
In her address, Principal Priya John highlighted the importance of learning different languages and embracing diverse cultures as key to nurturing global citizens and fostering bonds of friendship. Among the winners, DPS RK Puram secured first place in Group Recitation, Solo Song, and Hispanic Dance. DPS Noida won the top prize in Character De Facto, while DPS International Saket claimed first position in Dramatic Extract. The Overall Winners’ Trophy was awarded to DPS Greater Noida.
