Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi government has announced it will distribute high end i7 laptops to 1,200 school students who have passed Class 10.Â
As per details shared by department, laptops will be equipped with Intel Core i7 processors, with high performance and multitasking capabilities. This initiative is targeted at meritorious or eligible students from Delhi government schools, to support their academic journey as get into higher education and prepare for competitive exams. Delhi government believes that access to such devices will help students attend online classes. It will also provide access to digital study resources, practice coding, and explore research oriented projects from home.
Delhi Govt officials have emphasized that this is part of a plan to ensure that socio economic barriers do not restrict students' educational potential. With growing dependency on digital platforms in both classrooms and at home, providing laptops is expected to help government school students stay at par with their peers in private institutions.
