DoE has said that the schools cannot give admission to students based on marks obtained in Class 10 for 2021.

Schools in Goa have been warned against admitting students in Class 11 before the Common Admission Test (CET) is conducted. The Directorate of Education (DoE) has said that the schools cannot admit students based on the marks obtained in Class 10 for the year 2021.

“It is once again clarified that admissions to Class XI science stream should be done based on the results of an examination that will be conducted by the Goa Board nd any admissions granted without the basis of the said Goa Board will be rendered invalid," director of education D R Bhagat said.

Earlier, reports suggested that the state board is providing provisional admissions to Class XI science stream students, violating orders.

While, admissions to Class 11 Commerce has begun based on the results prepared by the schools based on the evaluation criteria after the Goa SSC exams were cancelled due to COVID-19. The entry to Class 11 science stream seats and diploma programme seats will be based on the Common Admission Test (CET). This is being done to keep the Science seats competitive. The exam is expected to be held on either July 27 or 28, the state board has notified.
