According to the reports, the state education department of Gujarat for the first time allowed students who cleared Class 12 supplementary exams to apply for regular admissions in professional colleges.

GSEB 12th Supplementary Results 2020: Students who appeared and cleared for the Gujarat Board Class 12 Supply Exam can apply for regular admissions. According to the reports, the state education department of Gujarat for the first time allowed students who cleared Class 12 supplementary exams to apply for regular admissions in professional colleges. The decision is taken after recording extremely low registrations due to which more than 52 per cent of seats are left vacant after the first round of admissions. The official data suggest that a low number of seats are recorded in the degree and diploma engineering colleges across the state.

Students must note that the registration process began for all the students on Thursday, i.e. October 15, 2020, and would go on until October 19, 2020. As per ACPC, this year, only 30,060 registrations were recorded for 50,928 engineering seats in 139 government, grant in aid and self-financed institutes with the Admission Committee for Professional Courses.

Rajul Gajjar, member secretary ACPC, principal of LD Engineering College said,  “This is the first time students with supplementary result in Class 12 board exams are allowed in the second round of admissions. These students will now be part of the regular admission process unlike earlier when they could apply only for the seats left out after the admission process gets over.”

This time only 24,016 seats were allotted after the first round of online admissions by ACPC. This is  47.15 per cent of the total seats taken by students and 26,912 vacant seats that are 52.83 per cent would be going for admissions in the second round, for which registrations opened Thursday.
