Himachal Pradesh education board has decided to promote all Class 10th on the basis of pre-board and internal assessment in first and second term examinations.
Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (HPBOSE) has decided to promote all Class 10th students to the next grade without holding board examinations. This move came after a surge in COVID19 cases was reported in the state. Approximately 1.5 Lakh students of HPBOSE 10th will be promoted without examination for the year 2021. The students will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment scores in the first and second terms and pre-board examinations.
According to the board officials, the marking criteria on which HPBOSE class 10th students will be evaluated will be announced soon.
On the basis of this decision, 1,16,915 students in class 10th will be relieved from board examinations. As per the meeting, there is no decision on class 12th and other state examinations up till now. The HP Board will soon conduct a meeting to discuss action on the said examinations. Himachal Pradesh class 10th and 12 board examinations were scheduled to begin from April 13 but later were deferred due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The HPBOSE 10th Result is expected to be announced in July.
CBSE, CISCE, and many other state boards have also decided to cancel the 10th board exams 2021 due to concerns over rising covid cases in the country.
The decision on the conduct of Class 12th exams 2021 will be taken in the first week of June by many National and state education boards.
