Karnataka SSLC examinations 2023 will be conducted as per the old pattern. Students will now have to answer essay-type questions and give detailed answers as against MCQs that were introduced during the pandemic.
Karnataka SSLC exams 2023: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has issued fresh guidelines for the upcoming examinations for Class 10. In the released notification for Karnataka SSLC 2023 exams, the state board has stated that the students will now have to answer essay-type questions and give detailed answers, as against multiple choice questions (MCQs) that were introduced during the pandemic.
The decision to reduce the syllabus will also be revoked and students will have to study the entire syllabus. In addition, the revised textbooks, which have caused much controversy during the year, will also be a part of the syllabus taught to students.
βAt least 75% attendance is mandatory as per the days scheduled by the school, to write the exams. The question paper format of SSLC examination from 2019-2020 will be followed in the current academic year (2022-23), without any changes in the level of rigour,β the guidelines stated.

Moreover, the Karnataka Assembly has recently passed a bill for the merger of SSLC and PUC Boards. Karnataka State Secondary Education Examination Board, KSEEB and Department of Pre University Education, DPUE will now be merged and combined into a single board. As per this bill, the board will be renamed to Karnataka School Examinations and Assessment Board.
