According to an order released by the Board, the board will telecast audio-visual lessons on Doordarshan from 7 am to 10 am. Students and teachers are required to register through a mobile app called 'MASHIM' for access.
The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education is all set to begin the academic session for classes IX to XII through online mode from today i.e. September 7, 2020. The MP Board chairperson Radheshyam Julaniya shared the official information regarding the beginning of the new academic session online. According to an order released by the Board, the board will telecast audio-visual lessons on Doordarshan from 7 am to 10 am. Students and teachers are required to register through a mobile app called 'MASHIM' for access. "We are going ahead with online teaching for Class IX to XII from tomorrow," Julaniya told a reputed media source on September 6.
The official orders also state, If a student does not have access to a mobile phone for registration, he or she can use the cellphone of an acquaintance or approach school or a kiosk centre. In case a student is unable to access an assignment, it will be the responsibility of the principal to provide him with it, the order said.
However, according to a recent National Sample Survey, Household Social Consumption on Education in India, just 9.7 per cent rural and 55.4 per cent urban households in Madhya Pradesh have access to the internet.
According to sources, the state government was averse to the Board's decision to start online classes unilaterally from Monday. "My order has the (school education) minister's approval," Julaniya, however, said.
The academic institutions are closed in the state since the month of March due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. In order to curb the loss of studies, the state government as well as the stateβs education board is trying to come up with alternative methods to continue the teaching-learning process.
