NIOS Cancels Exam on November 6 due to Bihar Election, Fresh Dates Soon

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has cancelled the 10^th and 12^th, also called Senior Secondary and Secondary theory examination scheduled for November 6, 2025, across all centres in India.

As per an official tweet by NIOS, the decision has been taken in view of the Bihar Election 2025 and related administrative requirements. “Due to the Bihar elections, administrative and logistic reasons Today's (6th Nov. 2025) theory exam will not be conducted throughout India. New date of the exam will be informed very soon,” Tweet reads.

NIOS was scheduled to conduct Physics, History, Environmental Science and Library and Info Sc. Exam for Class 12 and Painting for Class 10 today, which has been cancelled due to first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

NIOS has also advised learners and study centres to await the revised schedule, which will be announced soon on the official NIOS website, nios.ac.in.

Students are advised to retain their admit cards and not make any changes to their upcoming exam plans until the Board issues further instructions. “All candidates appearing for NIOS Examination are advised to keep visiting the official website of NIOS for latest updates,” reads NIOS public notice.
