According to BSE President Ramshis Hazra, the first day of the exams went off well in all the centres except a few incidents. The class 10 board exams in Odisha will continue for around 15 days.
Odisha Board class 10 exams commenced on Feb 19, 2020. For this year Class 10 Odisha board exam, more than 5.47 lakh students appeared. The class 10 board exams in Odisha will continue for around 15 days. The board exam held by the Odisha State Board of Secondary Education (BSE) is being conducted in 2,888 examination centres spread across the state. According to BSE President Ramshis Hazra, the first day of the exams went off well in all the centres except a few incidents. In a few incidents, 44 students from several districts were found cheating adopting prohibited means while writing the paper.
He also talked about that the supposed images of question booklet being circulated on the internet. He said that the viral pages on social media do not match with the actual booklet published by the Odisha Board. He clarified on the speculations and said that some miscreants had spread rumours to denigrate the board and simultaneously cause mental agony to the appearing students. He asserted that the board had taken sufficient precautionary measures to make sure that the questions are not leaked.
According to Examiner Controller Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, strict instructions had been issued to make sure that apart from the centre superintendent, nobody carries a mobile phone inside an examination centre. For the last few years, the paper leak has become a critical problem for every state board exam as well as central board of secondary education (CBSE). Every board is working to come out with a solution to the problem.
