The Odisha government has announced that students will now have to answer questions for 80 marks in each paper instead of 100 marks in Class 10 board examinations this year. 50 of that 80 marks will comprise objective questions in OMR (optical mark recognition) format and the remaining 30 marks will be subjective. The announcement was made on January 3, 2020, by the School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash. It has also been announced that the BSE Odisha Class 10 or HSC exams would be conducted from May 3 to 15, 2021.

However, the Board of Secondary Education has decided that the overall valuation in each paper will be for 100 marks. The Mass Education Minister further said that 20 marks will be evaluated on the basis of the percentage secured by an examinee from the given 80 marks in a particular paper.

The BSE Odisha HSC Results 2021 will be announced within 45-50 days after the successful conduct of the examinations.

Moreover, SOPs have been released for the reopening of schools only for those students who will be appearing for the board examinations. The classes for students in Class 10 would be conducted from January 8, 2021, to April 26, 2021. The students have been allotted 100 days of classroom teaching before the examinations begin.
