Delhi government's Directorate of Education (DoE) has also issued a directive requiring all schools, government, government-aided, and private to switch to hybrid mode (combining physical and online classes where feasible) for students from pre-primary/nursery up to Class 9 and Class 11.

Schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have shifted to online classes for Pre-Nursery to Class V as air quality across the National Capital Region (NCR) worsened, triggering Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

According to latest directions issued by Ghaziabad and Noida administration classes for younger students will remain fully online until further notice to limit exposure to hazardous air. For Classes VI to IX and XI, schools have been advised to conduct lessons in a hybrid mode, combining online and offline classes wherever feasible.

Schools have also been directed to avoid outdoor activities and ensure that all necessary precautions are taken for students attending classes on campus. District administration instructions apply to all government, government-aided and private schools across in Noida and Ghaziabad.

This move comes after air quality levels in several parts of NCR has slipped into ‘severe’ category, prompting authorities to enforce GRAP-IV measures to protect public health, especially children.
