Republic Day Celebration: UGC releases important SOPs for schools and colleges

University Grant Commission has released Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Republic Day Celebrations in all the Schools/colleges of the country.

University Grant Commission has released Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Republic Day Celebrations in all the Schools/colleges of the country. “As you are aware, the forthcoming Republic Day, 2023 will be celebrated on January 26, across the nation. In this regard, the Ministry of Defence has formulated a Standard Operating procedure (SOP) for celebrating this gala day with utmost patriotism and zeal. The copy of the SOP is attached herewith for ready reference,” the notification stated.

“The higher educational institutions are requested to follow the SOP while celebrating the forthcoming Republic Day. They should also follow the guidelines issued from time to time for COVID-19 management by the Central/State Government,” it further added.

The commission has asked schools and colleges to conduct the following programs:

• Flag Hoisting Program
• Craft Project for Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav
• MyGov Quiz
• VeerGatha and Vande Bharatam
• Veer Gatha Program
• Vande Bharatam ProgramVirtual/Physical competition of debate/plays/ essay writing/ class project leading to the Republic Day on 5 themes of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav to be conducted between January 10 to Jan 25. Announce and award winners at the Republic Day event.

The commission has also asked schools and colleges to follow COVID-19 protocol while conducting these competitions. “It may be ensured to follow the guidelines issued from time to time for Covid Management by the Central Government/State Government,” the commission stated.
