A total of 26,610 Class 10th students and a total of 27,205 Class 12th students have enrolled for the board exams this year.
Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has decided that it will conduct the TBSE 10th, 12th exams 2021 only for main subjects this year. A month after postponing the board examinations due to surge in COVID-19 infections, the exams that were scheduled to begin from May 18, will be held only for selected papers.
Education minister Ratan Lal Nath told media that holding the examinations for all subjects wouldn’t be possible for Madhyamik and senior secondary classes due to the pandemic situation. However, if the situation permits, the exams would be conducted with 15-days' notice, he said. He told that a decision was recently taken on the conduct of the exams and it was decided to conduct them for certain subjects only.
TBSE President Dr. Bhabatosh Saha said, “We took the decision to hold exams in three subjects for Class 10 and few subjects for Class 12 due to the prevailing situation. We will announce our final decision in June.”
Though schedules for conducting examinations are yet to be decided, the Board has so far told that the three subjects selected for TBSE Class 10 are English, Mathematics and Science whereas no selection of subjects has been made for TBSE Class 12 yet.
A total of 26,610 students of Class 10 and 27,205 students of Class 12 have registered for the exams this year.
