The UK Board has announced the cancellation of Class 12 exams amid COVID-19.

The Uttarakhand Board of Secondary Education (UBSE) has cancelled the UK Board 12th exams 2021 amid the second wave of COVID-19. While announcing the cancellation of Uttarakhand Class 12 exam news  Uttarakhand Minister for School and Sanskrit Education Arvind Pandey said, "The students would also be promoted accordingly. The government has taken this decision considering the interest of the students and teachers."

The Uttarakhand School Education Board had earlier deferred the Class 12 board exams which were scheduled from May 4 to May 22, 2021.

The minister earlier said that it would be difficult to hold the Class 12 exams amid monsoon season. “It is challenging to hold exams in monsoon, especially in the hilly regions of the state, as there is a risk of natural calamities. Though the number of CBSE students is lesser in those regions as compared to plain districts, I have put forth these concerns during our recent meeting with the Centre,” the minister said.

The step to cancel the UK Board 12th exams comes a day after CBSE 12th exams were cancelled. Following suit, many state boards including HBSE, MP Board, RBSE, among others have cancelled their Class 12 examinations.

Earlier, the state board had cancelled the UK Board 10th exams and also released the evaluation criteria to prepare the Class 10 Result.
