UP Board Exams 2026 began with over 49 lakh students appearing on first day, out of more than 52 lakh registered. UPMSP day 1 board exams were conducted peacefully under strict security arrangements, with some cases of unfair means and impersonation reported.
UP Board Exam 2026: Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad conducted day 1 of UP board exam across the state with more than 49 lakh students appearing in two shifts. UPMSP board exams were conducted amid tight security arrangements to ensure a fair process. According to official data, in UP Board first shift, 25,83,055 students appeared out of 27,54,376 registered, while 1,71,321 (over 6%) were absent. In second shift, 23,56,983 students appeared against 24,99,370 registrations, with 1,42,387 students (over 5.5%) remaining absent.
Out of 52,53,746 registered students, 49,40,038 appeared for UP Board exam 2026 while 3,13,708 were absent. As per media reports, board officials stated that absentee data has been compiled date-wise and subject-wise figures for complete UPMPS class 10, 12 exam period will be released after all paper gets over.

Three students were caught using unfair means on UPMSP first day exam 2026. Two cases were reported from Hapur district and one from Bareilly district. All three were UP board high school students. In addition, five FIRs were registered in Agra, Fatehpur, Kannauj, Kaushambi and Etawah districts after one impersonator was caught in each district appearing in place of another. Based on media updates, UP board exams were conducted peacefully and in a copy free manner.
Security Measures During UP Board Exam 2026
This year, UP Board introduced additional security measures to prevent malpractice. Answer booklets were printed in different colours, and teachers and invigilators were issued QR code enabled identity cards. Mobile jammers were installed on a trial basis at 20 selected centres to block unauthorised communication. All exam centres are under CCTV surveillance with voice recording facilities. Question papers are kept in double-lock strong rooms with round-the-clock monitoring. Flying squads, static magistrates, and police teams have also been deployed.
