The council had earlier decided on the cancellation of West Bengal 11th exams and to promote all students to the next class.

West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) asked school authorities to complete the formalities relating to promotion of students of WB board Class 11 to the next class by July 15.

On April 30, the council had decided not to conduct the annual examination of Class 11 in the state and to promote all students to Class 12. The decision was taken due to the prevailing pandemic situation.

On June 8, the Council asked parents/guardians to come to the school premises with the identity card of their wards to complete the admission procedure by strictly maintaining all Covid-19 protocols.

Earlier this month, the Board had decided to cancel the WB Madhyamik and Uchha Madhyamik examinations 2021 after the Centre decided to cancel the 12th exams. The evaluation method to assess students will be decided by experts in a week's time so their careers were not at stake, state CM Mamta Banerjee had said.
