WBCHSE Makes CCTV Mandatory at Exam Centres for HS Exams 2026

WB HS Board Exam 2026: West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has made it compulsory to install CCTV cameras at all WB Higher Secondary (HS) exam centres. As per schedule WBCHSE class 12th exam will be held from February 12 to 27, 2026. As per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), CCTV cameras must be installed at entrance gates and in confidential rooms of all exam centres. Venue supervisors have been instructed to ensure proper installation and to preserve CCTV footage until April 30, 2026.

Security Checks for WB HS 2026 Exam

The council has also introduced strict security checks. All examinees will be frisked at entry points using metal detectors. The checking will be carried out by teaching and non-teaching staff in presence of police personnel. Police will step in only if there is any disturbance or law-and-order issue.

According to guidelines, exam hall doors will open one hour before exam and will be closed once the examination starts. However, in emergencies, late entry may be allowed up to 10.30 am for Semester IV and WB HS exams under old annual system, and up to 1.30 pm for Semester III supplementary exam. No extra time will be given to latecomers.

WBCHSE has strictly banned mobile phones and all electronic devices inside exam centres. Candidates found carrying such items or involved in physical assault on exam staff will have their board exams cancelled, along with their enrolment. Students are allowed to wear only analogue watches. Calculators will be permitted only for those appearing under old annual system.

Examinees appearing for Semester IV and HS exams under old system must report to centre by 9 AM. Students appearing for WB HS Semester III supplementary exam must report by 12.30 PM.  Answer scripts or OMR sheets will be distributed at 10 AM for main exams and at 12.50 PM for supplementary exam. Question papers will be distributed at 9.50 AM for Semester IV, 10 AM for annual HS exam, and 1 PM for supplementary exam.
