IIM Kozhikode launches Centre for Climate Studies 

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has launched a ‘Centre for Climate Studies’. The Centre for Climate Studies, which will be a Centre of Excellence at IIMK has been launched to focus on Climate Leadership, Internationalisation and Management for policy Advancement, Technology and Enterprise (CLIMATE).

IIM Kozhikode Centre for Climate Studies to provide short-term courses

Short-term training courses will be provided at IIM Kozhikode Centre for Climate Studies. These courses will be introduced to produce climate ambassadors taking part in cooperative climate research initiatives through the Lakshadweep Studies programme and moving educational campuses toward carbon neutrality among the other objectives.

Research papers invited from researchers, academia and thought leaders

Meanwhile, IIM Kozhikode has also announced the call for papers from researchers, academia and thought leaders worldwide for the special issue on Climate. The last date to submit the papers is October 17, 2022. Interested candidates are required to make their submissions on or before the deadline.  Candidates can make submissions online at the official website, i.e. journals.sagepub.com/home/ksm

The Centre has been launched considering the tremendous changes the climate is experiencing due to various factors. Talking about the Centre for CLIMATE studies launched at IIM Kozhikode, Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode, said, “Climate change is an enormous challenge to which the international community, national policymakers and educational institutes need to proactively respond to. Research, technological innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and environmental awareness will be the foundation on which the Centre will endeavour to make a meaningful contribution towards India’s goals on achieving carbon-neutrality by 2070.”
