IIM Udaipur introduces 'Fintech Centre Of Excellence'

IIM- Udaipur 'Fintech Centre of Excellence' will have access to high-end computing capabilities and other tools and skills required for the development of new ideas, frameworks, and practices.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Udaipur has introduced 'Fintech Centre of Excellence'. According to the official press note, the Centre aims to bring together industry practitioners, market regulators and entrepreneurs to provide thrust in financial ecosystems. Talking about the newly launched introduced 'Fintech Centre of Excellence' IIM-Udaipur director Professor Janat Shah informed that the Centre will have access to high-end computing capabilities and other tools and skills required for the development of new ideas, frameworks, and practices. The press note adds, Dr Y Shekar, the in-charge of the Fintech and Centre for Digital Enterprise IIM Udaipur said, "The initiative will bring together industry practitioners, market regulators, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, technologists, and academicians to develop new knowledge, practices, and frameworks for the rapidly emerging and disruptive financial vertical.”

Meanwhile, on September 6, 2021, IIM-U announced the fourth cohort of 'Launch-n-Zoom'. IIM- Udaipur has organised this three-month accelerator programme to support the new-age startups. As informed by IIM Udaipur, technology-backed startups (pre-seed, seed and growth stage) offering solutions to tackle challenges in the AgriTech and FinTech sectors are invited to participate in this programme. IIM Udaipur also stated that eligible startups will receive funding of up to Rs 20 lakh under ‘Launch-n-Zoom’.

Candidates/startups interested in the programme must note that the deadline to apply for IIM- Udaipur's fourth cohort of 'Launch-n-Zoom' is September 27. The programme is powered by the Department of Science and Technology.

Talking about the launch of the programme, Kannan Soundararajan, CEO, IIM Udaipur Incubation Center said, "The fourth edition of Launch-n-Zoom supported by NIDHI Seed Support is a three-month accelerator program with a unique opportunity for the entrepreneurs to scale and grow their ventures with the help of our mentors, industry experts, and corporate partners."

From all the applications, IIM Udaipur will begin selecting a small number of high-potential startups to take part in the programme beginning from October 25, 2021.
