IIM Udaipur reports 15 COVID-19 cases
Out of the total infected, 13 students are asymptomatic while two have slight cold.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur has reported 15 COVID-19 cases. Of the infected, 13 are asymptomatic while two students have slight cold.

The institute has isolated infected and all preventive measures are being taken. IIM Udaipur Director Janat Shah said, “We had sent 521 samples for testing on Thursday, of which 15 have come out to be positive. The infected students are isolated and all preventive measures are being taken. Classes and exams are being conducted online.”
The Director said, “The campus is operating with 50 per cent staff. We must take all safety measures and stay resilient in these trying times. We shall be showing full cooperation with the Udaipur administration to adhere to maintaining safety protocols.”
IIM Calcutta students asked to vacate campus
Meanwhile, amid the rising cases of the novel coronavirus and its contagious Omicron variant, the IIM Calcutta has asked its students staying in hostels that have been declared containment zones to leave the campus by January 9. According to the reports, the decision has been taken by the institute’s ad-hoc committee as the number of COVID-19 patients has significantly gone up.
Over the past few days, more than 50 students have tested positive for COVID-19 on the campus. A notice has been issued to the students that read, “All the students should vacate the campus latest by 9th January positively.” It asked the MBA (second year) students to take their belongings with them and hand over the room to the hostel administration.
