AKTU is likely to begin the first academic session of the pharmacy institute by next year with a batch of 60 students at the undergraduate level.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) laid the foundation stone of the first government pharmacy institute in Barabanki on May 30. Students planning to make a career in pharmacy will soon get the opportunity to pursue the courses of their choice in a hi-tech government pharmacy institute. Reports suggest that AKTU is likely to begin the first academic session of the pharmacy institute by next year with a batch of 60 students at the undergraduate level. Gradually, the institute will be developed as a dedicated research centre in the pharmaceutical sector.
During the ceremony, the newly-constructed buildings of the mechanical engineering department, the academic building of chemical engineering, seminar halls and residential buildings were also inaugurated at the Institute of Engineering and Technology on this occasion.
According to the reports, there will be 70% of hi-tech laboratories in academic institutions for research purposes. Modern laboratories for microbiology, pharmaceutical chemistry, central instrumentation, biotechnology, human anatomy physiology and pharmacognosy will be developed at the institute. Talking about the move taken by AKTU, the varsity spokesperson Asheesh Mishra said,“We will begin the first academic session next year and will continue to develop infrastructure so that a world-class pharmacy research institute can be set up where undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses can be offered.” “At the time of Covid-19 pandemic, there is a high demand for pharma courses. The students will be able to pursue the course at the government institute at a reasonable fee,” he added.
