Allahabad University shifts classes to online mode amid COVID surge
Teachers, research scholars and administrative staff are allowed to come to the campus while strictly following Corona-Omicron Guidelines. However, all students are directed to refrain from coming to the university and advised to take their classes in online mode.
Owing to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state and its variant Omicron, Allahabad University has decided to close its campus for physical classrooms. While only internal official working will be carried out in the offices of the university, no public visitor or outsider will be allowed to enter the campus until further notice. The University has directed all the students to not visit the campus and attend the classes online.
As per the official notification released by Allahabad University, registrar, Professor NK Shukla, the teachers, research scholars and administrative staff will be allowed to come to the campus while strictly following Corona-Omicron Guidelines. Further, all students are directed to refrain from coming to the university and advised to take their classes in online mode.
The University in its notifications also urged the faculties and guest faculties of department, institute, center of AU to take necessary steps to continue their classes in online mode from their respective departments or centers and all Deans of Faculty, Heads of Department, Directors of Institute and Coordinators of Center are requested to ensure for proper attendance of faculties in their respective departments, institutes and centers.
It must be noted that the research scholars are allowed to carry out their emergent necessary research work only with due permission of their guide or supervisor following all safety measures required against the spread of COVID-19, mentions the notification of the registrar.
All those who are not vaccinated yet should get both the vaccines immediately, the notice mentioned. All the officials, faculty members and non-teaching staff may be advised to take care of their own health and look out for respiratory symptoms, fever and, if feeling unwell, should leave the workplace after intimation to their reporting officer.
