Aligarh Muslim University has conducted a 5-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) von โData Sciencesโ in collaboration with the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, New Delhivirtually. The program was organised by the Department of Computer Science of Aligarh Muslim University.
During the occasion, Professor Zaheeruddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AMU said Data Sciences is a new specialised area of knowledge sharing and professionals working in this area are the most sought-after individuals in the current job scenario. Professor Rafiqul Zaman Khan (Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Convener) underlined the benefits of learning Data Sciences for academicians and researchers. He said the main objective of the online FDP is to offer a forum to the participants to discuss the recent advances in data sciences.
Dr Mohammad Sajid (Coordinator) said the programme will provide opportunities to discuss issues pertaining to knowledge sharing, which is useful for effective teaching and learning.Dr Faisal Anwer and Dr Mohammad Nadeem were the Co-coordinators of the programme.
AMU is a leading public central university located in the city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The university has received the Institute of National Importance honour under Seventh Schedule, Article 246 of Indian Constitution. AMU has 12 faculties that comprise 98 departments, 15 centres and three academies with 28,000 students, about 1,342 teachers and nearly 5,610 non-teaching staff members. Besides, it has three centres at Kishanganj (Bihar), Malappuram (Kerala) and Murshidabad (West Bengal).
Admission to the majority of programmes is granted based on the candidate's merit and score in the qualifying degree, AMU conducts department and university-level entrance tests for some courses.
