Anna University, Chennai, has announced new dates for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) semester examinations which were scheduled for Feb 19, due to local body elections in the state. The university has released the revised timetable for November-December 2021 exams at the official website annauniv.edu. The UG examination is rescheduled for March 5, March 6, and March 11 and PG exams are rescheduled for March 5 and March 9.

The university notification says, “Due to the local body election in Tamil Nadu to be held on February 19, the examinations scheduled for 19th February 2022 are rescheduled.”

As per the revised dates, the PG exams will now start from March 5. The university had earlier announced that it will be conducting the UG, PG semester exams in take-home mode, the duration of the examination is 3 hours and the pattern will be the same as the one followed earlier before the Covid 19 pandemic. Anna University has also issued the exam day guidelines.

Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy has said, “As per the directions of Chief Minister M K Stalin, the first, third, and fifth-semester exams for arts and science and other students would be held online from February 1. “The announcement to reopen colleges will not affect the decision to hold the examinations online. Students, as well as parents, need not have any doubt. However, practical exams need to be conducted and students have to be physically present for those. On non-exam days, they are required to attend regular classes and that is the reason behind reopening the colleges,” Ponmudy said.
